Staying Safe at The Petchey Academy
Our latest ECM day took place on Thursday 12th March where the theme was Staying Safe. It involved Year 7 and 8 students, staff and many members of charity and community organisations.
The issues explored on the day included staying safe online, using the London Transport network safely and responsibly, anti-bullying and tackling gang and knife crime. In all of the workshops taking personal responsibility was a running theme. At The Petchey Academy we encourage our students to make informed choices and this day enabled us to give them the information they need to keep safe in their local community. Many thanks to the many organisations that contributed to the day, including:

Nathan Levy talking to Year 7 about his brother Robert who was tragically stabbed in 2004 on the streets of Hackney whilst trying to help a younger student.
Whilst on holiday from school many of you will have much more time on your hands in which to get involved in many activities. Some of you will be unsupervised by adults for much longer than during term time. This is the time when you should consider carefully how you are going to STAY SAFE.
