Admissions criteria

All Year 11 students are welcome to apply to our sixth form, you don't even need to live in Hackney. Students who currently attend The Petchey Academy will be interviewed by a member of the Leadership Group on 15th February 2019 and made a conditional offer based upon their predicted grades. 

There's still time to apply to our Sixth Form - come and see us on GCSE Results Day (22nd August) once you have collected your results.

Pathways Courses Requirements
1 3 A Level or Pre-U subjects + GPR or 3 subjects if one is Further Maths 8 x 5+ grades including English and Maths, with grade 6 in the subjects you wish to study
2 2 A-Levels + GPR x 5+ grades including English and Maths, with grade 6 in the subjects you wish to study
3 Combine 1 A Level, 1 BTEC & GPR or 2 A Levels +1 BTEC (subsidiary) or 2 BTECs + 1 A Level 6 or more 9-5 grades including English and Maths
4 Extended Diploma BTEC (equivalent to 3 A Levels), including one day a week industry work experience 6 or more 9-5 grades including English and Maths

16th Jan 2019 Sixth Form Networking Evening from 5pm.

15th Feb Interviews for all internal students.
- This is your opportunity to discuss your provisional subject choices and receive advice on the impact these will have on your options beyond sixth form
- Provisional offers are made at this stage but subject choices are not final
- This is a key date for all students wanting to join our sixth form. The day will include fun taster lessons and if you have any final decisions to make about your course choices this is the perfect time to seek further guidance
20th March Sixth Form Networking Evening from 5pm.

5th April TASTER DAY FOR ALL SIXTH FORM APPLICANTS (external and internal students)
22nd Aug GCSE results day
- Students will be expected to be available to attend interviews either on or immediately after results day
- External students will need to bring proof of exam results and a reference
- If you meet all the entry requirements we will offer you an unconditional place
- Course choices and extra-curricular/enrichment options will be finalised
