Our Career Ready programme links schools and colleges with employers to help prepare our students for the world of work. Students benefit from industry mentors, masterclasses, and employer-led activities that prepare them for the world of work, and ultimately help to make them stand out from the crowd when applying for jobs, university or apprenticeships.

One of the key elements of the programme is the internship, which allows the student to gain experience and skills that will prove invaluable to them as they set out on their journey to their chosen career.

Victoria's Story

Applying for the Career Ready programme has to be one of the best decisions I made during Year 12. Whilst on the programme I was fortunate to be mentored by a Lawyer at Clifford Chance. Through my mentor and through career sessions on the programme I was given such an invaluable insight into the corporate sector and the soft skills I needed to develop during school. to the University of Cambridge where I was awarded a full scholarship. In 2016 and 2017 through the help of my Career Ready mentor and my school I successfully applied to Deloitte's ASPIRE programme and Accenture's Horizons Gap Year Scheme. Additionally, my mentor gave me extra support with my UCAS application for university through providing me feedback on my personal statement, my mentor was a key driving factor that gave me the confidence to apply to the University of Cambridge where I was awarded a full scholarship.  I am currently the Social Mobility Foundation Campus Ambassador at Cambridge and I am very passionate about increasing access and diversity to top universities.
