At The Petchey Academy we offer over 70 free clubs from3.30-4.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesdays we have a slightly longer day with period 7 running from 2.35-4pm where Year 7 & 8 participate in a Learning Centre Project and Years 9-11 have boosters and intervention classes in the core subjects (English, Maths and Science).

KS3 students (Years 7 & 8)

MUST select AT LEAST ONE After School Club. They can sign up to more if they wish.

On Wednesday afternoons, for Year 7 and Year 8 students, learning is different. Some students will be selected to take part in Elite Team Sports during which they will receive expert coaching and (hopefully!) forge the physical and mental attributes to be part of winning sports teams. Some may even represent the academy in the borough, across London or nationally, perhaps earning themselves a Sports Tie. Some students will take part in specially planned Learning Centre Projects. Students will work collaboratively on two projects throughout the year. The projects aim to develop students’ literacy, team-work and communication, resilience and ability to relate their studies to the real world.
