The Petchey Academy reflects the community of Hackney with its diverse cultures and faiths.

It is therefore a multi-faith school which respects equally all religions and faiths. The Academy does not pursue a doctrinal approach to faith or religion and expects and encourages all students to develop an understanding and respect for the religious beliefs of others.

All students, as part of the learning programme, follow the Hackney Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education in Schools. Students are not allowed to opt out of this part of the learning programme as it is regarded as vital to their all-round education development.

Parents/carers with particular interest or concerns about this particular aspect of Academy life should discuss the matter with a senior member of staff at the time of application.
