Communications – Aims and Objectives
1. To develop students’ ability to use English, Drama, and the Target Foreign Language effectively and successfully.
2. To develop among students an awareness of the nature of language, language learning, and body language.
3. To develop students’ knowledge of the grammatical and linguistic structures of the language so that the knowledge and skills they acquire are transferable to the study of additional curriculum areas.
4. To offer insights into the culture and civilization of the countries where the language is spoken, both within the classroom and by means of trips abroad, so helping to promote internationalism and to counter prejudice and insularity.
5. To encourage positive attitudes to Drama, Literacy and language learning and speakers of foreign languages through an enjoyable and stimulating approach both within and outside the classroom.
6. To promote learning skills to equip our students for their future life such as the ability to work and communicate with others, use a variety of resources, memorise, interpret and be creative and imaginative.
7. To form a sound base of the skills of Literacy, Drama, and foreign language learning to equip students with a skill that is advantageous in adult life, for the purposes or employment, travel, recreation or personal contacts.
