Key Stage 4

Students at Key Stage 4 will be studying either the DiDA course or the ECDL Qualification.

Brief Course Outline:

ECDL (European Computer Drivers License):

The course offers students a unique qualification which will help students in further education and employment. ICT is looked upon as an invaluable asset as it is a vital skill required in almost every career path.
Students will use key applications including Microsoft Office and Adobe/Macromedia as part of their qualification. They will be exposed to focused practical tasks that will develop a range of techniques, skills and knowledge and they will also need to conduct assignments, which include activities related to industrial practices.

DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications):

DiDA is a new suite of ICT qualifications consisting of a number of different units, each worth one GCSE. It is designed to connect students more closely with their goals, in further education or employment, as well as other areas of the curriculum.
 
Achieving the Diploma (equivalent to four GCSEs)

The Diploma in Digital Applications (DiDA) is achieved by completing Unit 1 plus any three other units for example;
Multimedia: Gather digital assets – sound, images, video, animation etc – and combine them to create multimedia products
Graphics: Produce effective images for screen and print
ICT in Enterprise: Put ICT to work by planning and promoting an enterprise
This course offers students 'hands on' experience of using a range of ICT applications, which will aid them in further education and employment.
