In the department of Mathematics, the students follow the whole school thematic approach adopted by The Petchey Academy.

Within those themes, the students follow the Key Stage 3 Mathematics Framework encompassing Number, Algebra, Data Handling and Shape, Space & Measure.

The students are taught in classes according to their mathematical ability.

The current Year 7 cohort have participated in the Academies Mathematics Challenge (aka Mathletics) and have been rewarded with some outstanding results. More details can be found under the drop down "Every Child Matters" folder on the left, within "Enjoy and Achieve".

The students will soon be taking part in the Hackney Mathematics Challenge as well as the prestigious UKMT Junior Maths Challenge.
