Under the Stars
This semester is based on the National Curriculum unit 7.1 Presenting Information. Students are currently working on an Advert. The aim of the advert is to ask their target audience to avoid using artificial light sources at night, as this contributes to light pollution. Students have been taking pictures using digital camera's and have also been collecting them from the internet. As an academy we want students to understand that images from the internet need to be sourced as they are under copyright; therefore students are learning to acknowledge the source of the images.
How does it link to the theme?
It is very difficult to see stars at night because of the unnecessary use of artificial light. Students are aiming to create an advert which will persuade their target audience to avoid contributing to light pollution.
