Pupils will be visiting the Museum in the Docklands. Pupils will handle exciting World War II artefacts and try on helmets and costumes to discover why London’s docks were targeted during the Blitz. They will draw on role-play to create empathy with the evacuees and the local community.
Students will also visit the only permanent exhibition to examine London’s involvement in transatlantic slavery in the thought-provoking new gallery, London, Sugar & Slavery.
Both of these historical events link with key curriculum areas studied this academic year. The visit will enable students to consolidate their understanding and develop empathy with people living through those events.
