Social and Cultural Experience (SCE)

SCE stands for 'Social and Cultural Experience'

The Petchey Academy wants to use every opportunity we have to broaden our our students' experience in the the following subjects:

  • Music
  • History
  • Geography
  • Art
  • DT
  • Drama

We want to broaden students' awareness beyond what is taught in secondary education and develop a fascination for knowledge and information. Some of the topics covered include 'Do maps lie?', 'Why is the Mona Lisa famous?' and 'Could we download clothes someday?'. 

Each session has been carefully crafted to inspire students and provide them with greater understanding of a topic. 

SCE is taught to Y7, Y8 and Y9 as part of their assembly on a Tuesday.
