The Petchey Academy presents "Scrooge...A Christmas Carol"

News ‐ 19 Dec 2019

A feat of Petchey participation and perseverance, the cast and crew of our Christmas production of Scrooge delivered an incredible performance not once, not twice, but 5 times in a row, delighting audiences of primary school children, fellow students, parents and staff.

Something of a Christmas tradition at Petchey is inviting local primary schools to a matinee performance, and this year we welcomed nearly 400 children and staff from neighbouring Halley House, St Scolastica's and Baden Powell primary schools. Yesterday students in Years 7 and 8 enjoyed a matinee performance and parents, carers family and fellow students joined us for the evening shows on Tuesday and Wednesday. In true panto style, there were plenty of bad jokes, audience participation, and lots of  "He's behind you"s and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

“We had a WONDERFUL time - Scrooge was absolutely amazing! All the staff were fantastic and the children (and myself) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to next year!” Michelle Clarke (Halley House)

Enormous thank yous to all of the cast and back of house crew, to the orchestra, choir and all the staff for their hard work in putting the show together.
