WELCOME TO THE PETCHEY ACADEMY WEBSITE

Parent and carers will know that I have decided to retire as from 31st August 2010. I will then have completed 40 years as a teacher and Head Teacher in secondary education in and around London. I have been involved in the Petchey Academy both in the planning stage and as its first Principal for five and half years. It has been a difficult decision to make because as you will understand working for the academy has consumed my life for this period and therefore it is quite an emotional decision to make. However I feel now is a good time to take my retirement leaving the academy to move forward under the direction of a new principal. This will enable the new Principal to have a significant involvement in opening the new 6th form in September 2011.
 
Meanwhile may I assure all that it is “business as usual” and there will be no let up in our drive to maintain high standards with increasing examination success.
 
The search to recruit a new Principal is currently underway.
 

Informal 'drop-in' sessions:   Reminder

Parents/Carers are invited to 'drop-in' to the academy every Saturday morning if they would like to meet a member of staff. This is during the Saturday Morning Detention which takes place every week between 8-10 am.
