'A good school...outstanding features..some being unique'.

I am very pleased to announce the results of our recent very successful OFSTED Inspection. We are extremely pleased with the report which confirms the excellent work being done by students and staff alike at the academy. The last two years have been very demanding for all, and I would like to take the opportunity of thanking all who have contributed to ensuring that The Petchey Academy is so successful in such a short time.

Staying safe at The Petchey Academy

Our ECM day (Staying Safe) took place on Thursday 12th March.  It involved Year 7 and 8 students, staff and many members of charity and community organisations.

Nathan Levy of the Robert Levy Foundation

The issues explored on the day included staying safe online, using the London Transport network safely and responsibly, anti-bullying and tackling gang and knife crime. In all of the workshops taking personal responsibility was a running theme. At The Petchey Academy we encourage our students to make informed choices and this day enabled us to give them the information they need to keep safe in their local community. Many thanks to the many organisations that contributed to the day, including: Through Unity, The Robert Levy Foundation, Hard Knock Productions, The Comedy School and The DJ and MC Academy.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to our African drumming group who made such an impact on the guests at the National Conference of The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, held at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham. They are to perform at the National Conference of Academy Principals in July '09.

Keeping in touch

May I remind you that there is a senior member of staff available every Saturday morning for a 'drop-in-session' should you wish to seek information or express a concern. No appoinment is necessary!.   In addition should you wish to track your child's progress, Eportal is available 24/7. All you need is your access information.  We are very keen that parents/carers correspond with us using Eportal.  Alternatively many of you will know that I am at the academy front gate from 8.15 am in the morning to greet students and will always have time for a quick word if that is helpful. The success of The Petchey Academy depends on a strong dialogue between home and the academy !

Email contact with the academy: Unless you have a specific email adress for a member of staff, please address ALL email correspondence to:
